He didn't belong in your dimension. His being there threw off the balance even more, to the point where the damage to both dimensions would have been all but unrepairable. You lost a sworn brother, and for that I apologize. I lost the person I trusted the most due his betrayal and irresponsible actions that nearly cost all of us our entire existence.
