Well, no. I just missed them a lot. Mako was sort of my . . . you, before you, I suppose. Like a big sister. And Claudia, well.

Here's hoping I lived up to my predecessor.

I remember the thing with Claudia.

You've been wonderful. You don't operate the same way she does, but ultimately you're similar in the ways you've helped me. Patient. That sort of thing.

[ scratching at his chin ]

I did promise Claudia we could go on a date while she's here.

Then you have some plans to make, don't you?

I'm not sure what I should do, though.

[ridestherider]

Well, what does she like to do that you like to do?

[powerisyours]

That's sort of where I hit a snag last time, too. She plays guitar and likes to build things . . . electronics and such. As in, give her a toothbrush and she'll build you a toaster.

Well ... everybody likes movies, right?

[powerisyours]

I've never spent much time watching them, myself, but she did show me the Charlie Brown movies around this time last year.

So get some DVDs together, and have a movie night. Cook -- er. I'll cook and you can reheat it, and you can have dinner, too.

Do you know what kind of movies are popular?

[ridestherider]

It depends on the person. You could pick out a couple of several types and choose together?

[powerisyours]

Oh, that's a good idea. I don't have very many, though. Too bad books are sort of a one-person activity.

[ridestherider]

Well, they don't have to be, but that might be for a little later.

We can ask around with people we know to try to get a few more to choose from.

[powerisyours]

September might know, too. He and Claudia were pretty close.

See? You've already got a lead.

We'll have to see how it goes. His son arrived and he didn't have much time to spend with him back home, so he's trying to do so while he can.

September has a son?

[powerisyours]

Mm. He's ten or so. Michael.

How sweet.

I can't imagine coming here as a ten year old, though.

[powerisyours]

He's . . . not much different than September is, when he turns into a child. He isn't able to speak, and has difficulty understanding spoken languages. Which isn't to say he's not incredibly intelligent.
