I know not very many people here care about that sort of thing, but for the sake of not alerting those who do, I'd prefer you didn't say anything about it. And don't go start calling me "Meng Zhu", even in jest; I get enough of that from Xia Tian.

[ making an annoyed face ] I almost prefer being called "Xiao Wu" than "Meng Zhu".

Hey, no! I won't, anyway. I've never even called Takeru 'tono'--well, not seriously, I guess. When he gets all overbearing and annoying, maybe, but that's just to tell him he's being overbearing and annoying without actually saying so.

Kane calls me that, but it doesn't bother me as much when he does it because he doesn't actually know the significance of it. I think he heard Xia Tian call me Meng Zhu and just thought it was a nickname.

Fair enough. [mussing your hair before he pokes you, laughing] That's not a nickname! Xiao Wu is a nickname.

It could be, if you didn't know what it meant. [ poking your face! and this puppy is just getting very lick-happy ]

Except she might think you're calling her.

[dumps the puppy on you, then! and half-rolls over onto you too, one arm flopped over you]

I really don't care about that stuff, y'know. I mean, it's awesome that you're kicking ass and helping people, don't get me wrong, but that just... I dunno. It doesn't make you special like you have to be distant from everybody. It just makes you Jiu Wu, and I think you're pretty cool without all that Meng Zhu stuff, so whatever.

Quite obviously, I don't want to be put up on a pedestal or be kept away from everyone else. I am, by nature, a social person, and I don't particularly care for titles. I've flat out told people back home to just call me by my name, there are only two or three people back home that call me anything but Meng Zhu - my brother just calls me Ge, and my master called me Xiao Wu. Being here is nice, because I don't have to deal with it from anyone but Xia Tian, despite having asked him on countless occasions to use my name.

. . . But now that I think about it, if he had it in him to yell at me for my monumentally stupid screw up a few weeks ago, I might still be able to convince him.

I hope so. [still a little seriously] I know how it bugs Takeru to be called 'tono' sometimes. You've got a title, fine, that's not wrong. But you're more than that, too, and s'nice to have people say it out loud once in a while. [running his fingers slowly through your hair]
