It's a little less satisfying to be mean when you have a pure and just reputation to uphold.

I think if you're a leader it's better for people to like you, anyway. In general.

Mm, even if you have to be firm or make decisions not everyone is going to like, you don't have to be a jerk about it.

And even if people don't like it, if you're kind more people are willing to be on your side if someone has a problem with you.

Mm, I don't really like pulling the status card; I'd rather have people agree with me because they actually agree with me.

That's what I mean. When people like you and agree with you, they'll stand by you. If they're just terrified of you they'll jump at the chance to go help someone else get rid of you no matter who it is.

I do try to keep things even and fair, true. There's always a few who won't ever follow, but I certainly don't expect everyone to like me.

You can't please everyone all the time, trying too hard at it too much of the time is just going to make things worse.

This place is good for that kind of thing, at least. Learning stuff.

Learning how to properly interact with people has been one of the biggest challenges.

It's my personality, yes, but I've been told I go overboard sometimes, or that my sense of personal space is skewed.

People are better about it if you mean well, I think.

If it were anybody but you and a few other people, I wouldn't be happy about what you're doing now, for example.

Not all the time, it seems. I've since learned that "meaning well" can be categorized under "suspicious".

Just be yourself, I'd say. If people have a problem, apologize and don't do it again. Nine times in ten it's not that big a deal.

I'm not sure what I would do with a Natsumi who didn't have a little sass in her.

Mm, that's what I usually do. It doesn't always work, but I don't spend too much time worrying about it.
